If you lost the smartphone on which you had the payzy app installed, then we recommend you log on from another device and change your password. We also recommend you remove that device from the ‘Security settings’ section under ‘Device management’.
See below the steps you will need to follow:
1. Go to Profile, ‘Security Settings’, and select ‘Device Management’.
2. Choose ‘Remove’ for the device you want to remove.
Next Steps
You need to be particularly cautious after losing a device. Follow these steps to stay safe and return to normal as quickly as possible.
- Report the Incident
If your phone has been stolen, inform the police as soon as possible. This can help in recovering the phone and provide you with an incident report as proof of the event.
- Lock the Device
Android users can use the remote lock feature or Google’s “Find My Device” function.
iPhone users can go to iCloud and enable Lost Mode for their device.
- Protect Yourself from Scams
If you receive an unexpected call or message asking you to unlock the device, ignore it and report the incident. As long as the device is not in your possession, it should remain disconnected and marked as "lost."
- Contact Your Service Provider
Inform your mobile network provider to block both the SIM card and the device’s unique IMEI number.
- Change Your Passwords
If your device was connected to email accounts, immediately change your passwords and ensure that email forwarding hasn’t been activated without your knowledge. Your email provider should have instructions on how to check and modify this setting.
- Check Your Security Settings
If you’ve enabled two-factor authentication (2FA), which often uses phone numbers for additional verification, update this setting immediately.
- Log in to Social Media
If you had access to social media platforms, log in from a new device and revoke access for the lost device from your account settings.
- Notify Friends and Family
Inform your close contacts as soon as possible. Scammers may try to impersonate you, asking for money or other ways to access your device.
- Notify Your Insurance Provider
If you have insurance, report the incident and provide the police report along with other relevant documents.
